We spent a weekend in Singapore, taking in the height of modernity. We stayed at the YMCA right on Orchard Road. They were nice enough to post “No Durian” signs in the halls. Highlights were, of course, the Singapore Zoo, the Night Safari and the Bird Park. It was great to be in a place where everything just, well, worked!
