- august to september 2006 We arrived on August 9th, and
we've been adjusting rather quickly to life in Ho Chi Minh City.
This is where we're living.
As you can see, it's a two story deal. The entrance to the
house is directly
behind Luna. Four bedrooms, four baths - so there's lots of room
for visitors! You can get a bit of an idea
of the foliage surrounding the house from the big, leafy banana tree
looming in the foreground.
The kids are holding a bunch of
bananas that our gardener Mr. Toan chopped off from one of the
banana trees in our yard. You can see in this picture at least
five banana trees behind the kids.
The bananas were wonderfully sweet.
This is where we go to mass on
Sundays. It's the Notre Dame Cathedral, located downtown.
Looming
to the right of the chuch, in the background, is Diamond Plaza - the
lower four floors house a department store,
food court and bowling alleys, while the top floors are offices.
The consulate is a stone's throw away.
Here are the kids enjoying a fresh
coconut on our front patio.
No, the coconut didn't come from our yard.
One recent night, the kids went out
to go look for frogs. We found dozens of
them, and Justo, of course, just kept catching them.
