fall 2005 - washington, dc

The kids started school at Claremont Immersion school.  Luna started kindergarten in a Spanish immersion class.  Justo is in preschool.

This is in front of the National Archives, in the Hirschorn Sculpture Garden.  It was a gorgeous day.

These were taken at the National Book Fair, held at the National Mall, last September.
Coming out of the Metro, the ushers greeted us by saying "book fair to the left,
protest march to the right."

We enjoyed what was left of the nice Fall weather by heading down to Mr. Vernon - George Washington's home - to enjoy
one of their "theme"days.  It included a nice little cruise on the Potomac.

Other Fall highlights included Luna losing one of her front teeth, in addition to taking up violin lessons.

Meanwhile, Justo finagled himself on to the cover of a local magazine.  It was taken at the kids'
dance class.  The woman he's standing with is the owner of the dance school.

One of the playdates we had here at home was with friends we knew from Manila.
These are Raquel, Sunshine and Hannah.

We also celebrated the birthday of our friend Martha, who has been with
us since we started the State Department.  We were together in Manila, Guadalajara
and now here.
